
Hi! I am Karen, the founder of The Savvy Body and the author of this site.
I have been a practitioner of the authentic method of Pilates for over 5 years now and am a fully qualified 2nd generation Pilates Instructor (through Romanas Pilates).
I got into Pilates five years ago because I had been studying Shaolin Kung Fu for and was preparing for my teachers grading (which I passed!). I wanted something that would help me with my flexibility. What I found was a whole new approach to health and fitness. I have been doing it ever since.
Over the last 5 years I have used Pilates to help improve my fitness for martial arts, get back into shape after having a baby and improve my body control, balance, strength and flexibiltiy for my natural horsemanship pursuits. In its original form, I think Pilates is one of the most beneficial things anyone can do to improve their health and fitness. I hope you find something of benefit on this site and I welcome any comments you might have.
